An Early American Schoolbook
AbstractCoad writes about "Miscellanies, Moral and Instructive, in Prose and Verse; Collected from Various Authors, for the Schools, and Improvement of Young Persons of Both Sexes," first published in Philadelphia in 1787. It is one of the earliest American readers as well as one of the earliest American textbooks of literature. The work is attributed to Milcah Martha Moore (1740-1829).
